In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Gracious
(1) By those angels who snatch the souls of the disbelievers forcefully! (2) By those angels who draw out the souls of the believers gently! (3) By those angels who descend to the earth quickly to do what they are commanded! (4) By those angels who lead the souls to their residence! (5) By those angels who bring the destinies of people from heaven to earth! (6) The day will come when the trumpet blows to destruction. (7) Then it will blow again to resurrection. (8) In that day hearts will beat fearfully (9) and eyes will be downcast.
(10) Some say, "Will we be raised up from the graves (11) after we are but rotten bones!" (12) Others add, "If it were true, we would be losers!" (13) In that day it will be but a single Shout (14) and then they will find themselves in the Land of Judgment.
(15) Have you not known the story of Moses? (16) His Lord called him at Towa, the Holy Valley, (17) saying, "Go to Pharaoh because he became a tyrant. (18) Say to him, 'Do you want to purify your heart? (19) Let me then guide you to your Lord so that you may adore Him.'" (20) But when Moses showed him the great signs, (21) he denied and disbelieved. (22) He in return went out to his people, (23) summoning them and shouted (24) saying, "I am your Lord, the Most High!" (25) Therefore God punished him in this world and will surely punish him in the hereafter. (26) In this story there is indeed much wisdom for those who fear God.
(27) Is your creation then more complicated than that of the heaven? He constructed it, (28) raised its canopy and proportioned it, (29) darkened its night and brightened its day. (30) After that He expanded th earth (31) and drew its water and pasturage out of it. (32) He also fixed the mountains. (33) All these are made as provision for you and your animals.
(34) But what will you do when the Great Catastrophe comes? (35) In that day man will remember all what he did (36) at the moment when hell is figured out to everyone. (37) As for him who transgresses (38) and prefers this world, (39) hell will be his everlasting home. (40) But as for him who fears the majesty of his Lord and prevents himself from doing evil, (41) paradise will be his everlasting home.
(42) They ask you, [Muhammad], "When will the End come?" (43) But how do you know the answer? (44) It is your Lord alone who knows its time. (45) You are to warn those who fear it. (46) When people see it, they will think their life took onley a day or a night!
